Professional Pickleball Association Tournament- Baird Wealth Management Open at Renowned Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, OH

The Lindner Family Tennis Center right outside of Cincinnati, OH recently hosted the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tournament. Many top pickleball players were seen playing hard on the courts, looking to win. This stadium has a rich history of hosting top tennis players, and now it has expanded to the realm of pickleball- are you surprised? We aren’t!

The weekend was stacked with match after match and the energy was electric as about 850 players traveled to Ohio to compete. Well-known pickleball players like Tyson McGuffin and Anna Leigh Watters were seen pushing their limits on the court for a win. The #1 team in the world won gold (Colin and Ben Johns) and they beat 2 top 5 players in the finals (Jay Devilliers and Tyson McGuffin).

A few of Baddle’s ambassadors were represented in the tournament and put our paddles to the test on the courts. Joey Arbino, one of our ambassadors, got his first pro win in this tournament! During the entire weekend, he played men’s pro doubles and went 1-2 on the day winning his second match and losing the first and third. Another ambassador of Baddle's, Richard Canelas who is currently ranked 125 in the World Pickleball Rankings, got his first pro singles win at this tournament as well!

The tournament lasted 4 days, each day hosting a different set of matches. The first day you could find Men’s and Women’s Pro Singles, Friday was the Mixed Pro Doubles, Saturday included the Men’s and Women’s Pro Doubles, and finally ending with Championship Sunday where every player had the goal of reaching.

This month, the Grand Slam Championships will be at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, NV. In November, the Baird Wealth Management Open will be in Dallas, Texas and lastly don’t miss the Hertz National Championship that will be help in Orlando, Florida.
